Veteran technology leader Dhaval Shah joins Aether following decades of experience commercializing breakthrough innovations in decarbonization, advanced materials, circular economy, and sustainable manufacturing
CHICAGO, IL and SINGAPORE — June 9, 2026— Aether Fuels today announced the appointment of Dhaval Shah as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), strengthening the company's leadership team as it advances commercialization of its Aurora™ technology platform producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other sustainable liquid hydrocarbons.
Shah joins Aether with over 25 years of global technology leadership experience spanning catalysis, chemicals, advanced materials, process development, and large-scale commercialization. Throughout his career, he has successfully led multidisciplinary teams from concept through deployment, launching six technology platforms that generated more than $100 million in sales and created long-term growth opportunities exceeding $1 billion.
Most recently, Shah held senior technology leadership roles at SABIC, where he led global innovation initiatives focused on decarbonization, circular economy solutions, advanced materials, and sustainable manufacturing. His accomplishments include helping launch SABIC's TRUCIRCLE™ portfolio, advancing technologies targeting the recycling of one million tons of plastic annually by 2030, and demonstrating the world's first electrically fired cracker in collaboration with BASF and Linde. He previously served on the boards of Carbon Hub at Rice University and the Clean Combustion Research Center at KAUST and holds 15 patents.
"As we transition into commercial deployment and further expand our technology leadership, Dhaval's experience scaling breakthrough technologies and building world-class innovation organizations will be invaluable," said Conor Madigan, CEO and Co-Founder of Aether Fuels. "His track record of commercializing transformative technologies, combined with his deep expertise in decarbonization and process innovation, makes him an ideal leader for the next phase of Aether's growth."
As CTO, Shah will lead Aether's Technology organization, overseeing both exploratory research and the continued advancement and scale-up of the Aether Aurora platform. He will work closely with Aether's Engineering and Business Development teams to accelerate technology development, strengthen execution, and ensure successful integration of Aether's technology into commercial projects.
"I am excited to join Aether at a pivotal moment in the company's journey," said Shah. "The team has developed an innovative technology platform with the potential to significantly increase the availability of sustainable fuels while simultaneously lowering costs. I look forward to working with the talented team at Aether to help scale Aurora from demonstration to commercial deployment and support the company's mission of producing sustainable, drop-in fuels from waste and bio-derived carbon feedstocks."
The appointment comes during a period of significant momentum and growth for Aether. The company is currently developing Project Beacon in Singapore, the region's first next-generation commercial-scale SAF project and is operating a demonstration facility in North Carolina. Shah's addition further strengthens Aether's technical leadership team and reflects the company's continued progress toward commercial deployment of its technology.
"Aether's ability to attract a leader of Dhaval's caliber is a strong validation of both our technology and our commercialization strategy," added Madigan. "As we continue to grow our organization and advance commercial projects, we remain focused on building a world class team capable of delivering sustainable fuel projects at meaningful scale."
